about me

November 5, 2020:

I am originally from Laurel, MD and I started college fall of 2020 following a gap year after high school. I am taking all of my classes freshman year exclusively online from Wiesbaden, Germany. I started college unsure of what I exactly wanted post-graduation, so I hope my time at the university and Scholars program will provide a diverse and enriching experience that will help me grow both academically and mentally. While it is disappointing that the COVID-19 pandemic is hindering students’ abilities to experience college to its fullest extent, I know that I can still learn a lot from my professors and peers.

I chose the Media, Self and Society program so I could branch out from my major and into an interesting sector and challenge myself outside of my typical activities. We have been able to learn about and discuss many current events, and I have found it rewarding to see what my fellow college students think about what is going on. We have guest speakers that show us what the “other side” of media looks like. I look forward to what learning experiences like these the Scholars program will provide for us in the future.
